Melosh Lure Company
My name is Andrew M Gardner and I am the creator of the Melosh Lure Company. I have been in the art business since I was 15 and have always loved to fish since a toddler. My first experience creating fishing lures was when I was 12 yrs old fly fishing for Brook Trout in the Connetquot River. The Brookies would not hit anything until I threw a small blueberry in the water and they went nuts for it. I decided to tie a fly that looked exactly like that blueberry and believe it or not...I filled my creel with Brookies. Catching those fish on something I had made felt awesome.
The name Melosh, pronounced: Mee-low-shh, is a character in a comic strip that I drew years previously. He was an alien species who loved fishing with his friends, kinda like me except for the alien part. I thought it would make a great name for my fishing lure company and one that would not easily be forgotten. Check out the picture of Melosh in the photo's below.
Melosh fishing Lures were developed for the love of fishing and to introduce a whimsical, looking lure to attract kids to the wonderful world of fishing. Allthough these lures look funny, there's nothing funny about it's ability to catch fish.
Every lure that is created goes through a long process of development.. A sketch on a piece of paper to a proto-type carved out of a piece of Basswood. There are many steps that take place before that funny lookin' lure gets tied on a line and thrown into the drink.
